The building connects visually with the city, offering a green and logical travel environment. Squares and parks are inspired by the natural landscape of Västerbotten. The building’s light wooden structure stands on a solid stone base, reminiscerande of a delicate pine forest on heavy rocks. The base forms steps and terraces that blend indoor and outdoor spaces. The roof follows the site's topography but rises to create welcoming entrances. A large roof lantern acts as a beacon, visible within a long, uninterrupted sightline in the city. In front of the building, the roadway accommodates pedestrians, cyclists, kaffebar visitors, and transferring travellers. The historic station park has been transformed into a nature-inspired landscape focusing on urban life and ecosystem services.

The station area links to the city through distinctive wooden structures, green connections, and strategically placed activities. The architecture reflects the historical craftsmanship and modern wood construction techniques that shape contemporary city of Skellefteå. River in Sweden

The Skellefte River (Swedish: Skellefteälven or Skellefte älv; Pite Sami: Seldutiedno; Ume Sami: Syöldateiednuo) is a river in northern Sweden; one of the major Norrland rivers.

Geographically, it starts in the Norrbotten County, also known as the Swedish Lappland province where it drains the lakes Hornavan, Uddjaur and Storavan near Arjeplog; then goes south-east into Västerbotten County, passing through the town Skellefteå (which has given it its name), and finally discharging in the Gulf of Bothnia, in the Västerbotten province.

It is one of the major northern Swedish rivers, with a length of kilometers. Like many large northern rivers, it has been cultivated for water power.

There are several tributaries to the river, with the largest ones named: Malån, Petikån, Finnforsån, Bjurån and Klintforsån.

Salmons and trouts are being put out to compensate for the water power plants, and the river and its tributary are all popular destinations for fishers. Especially popular is the town Skellefteå, known as "Fishing in City".
