Färger och varianter
En ragdoll är en maskad katt. Pigmentet i pälsen är temperaturkänsligt och utvecklas mest på de kallare kroppsdelarna, d.v.s. i ansiktet (masken), på öronen, tassarna, benen samt på svansen. De mörkare områdena kallas för &#;points&#;. Pälsen i övrigt är ljus men mörknar med stigande ålder. En maskad katt har alltid blå ögon. Rasen godkändes i FIFe (i SVERAK ) och då i fyra maskfärger; brun, blå, choklad och lila. Då som nu är brun och blå de i särklass vanligaste färgerna. Den 1 januari godkändes även rödfärgsgenen och tabbymönstret i FIFe. Resultatet blev att vi idag har totalt 20 godkända färgvarianter av rasen.
Vitfläck
Ragdoll är en av få raser, där vitfläck är godkänd i kombination med maskfärgen. Det finns tre olika varianter i vår ras beroende på graden av eller avsaknad av, vitfläck. Dessa är:
- Colorpoint: Enbart maskad utan vitfläck. Katten har mörkare färg på öron, tassar, ben och svans samt i ansikte.
- Bicolor: I maskfärgen ska katten ha en bläs i form av ett omvänt &#;V&#;. Bröst, mage och helst hela benen ska vara vita. Vita fläckar på ryggen kan förekomma.
- Mitted: Tassar fram och bak är vita. På bakbenen ska det vita nå upp över
