EE Intressenter-owned Cherry Spelglädje has appointed Hans Martin Nakkim its new chief executive, replacing Aron Egfors.
The business Sweden’s largest commercial land-based operator said the new appointment was part of an “ambitious plan” to grow market share in its existing verticals and expand into new areas of gaming.
“I am grateful to work with such a well-known brand and strong team,” Nakkim said. “I look forward to exploring new business opportunities and investments in the gaming sector for Cherry Spelglädje.”
Cherry Spelglädje did not mention Egfors’ new role, but he said he would work more directly with the business’ operations going forward.
“After just over 12 years here at Cherry Spelglädje and the last barely six years as CEO, it has been filled with both fun and challenges,” Egfors. said.

Gameday Group acquired by Cherry With Friends AB
Gameday Group’s acquisition bygd Sweden-based Cherry With Friends AB has been finalised, after a majority of its shareholders accepted the Swedish iGaming firms “mix-and-match-offer” for Gameday Group’s entire issued share capital back in November.
The completion of the transaction was announced by Gameday Group’s St Julian’s-based subsidiary, Together Gaming Solutions plc, on Sunday.
Together Gaming’s Board of Directors had anticipated that should the move materialise, it would have an “overall positive effect” on the company.
In Sunday’s update, tillsammans Gaming stated that all conditions precedent to the transaction were satisfied and it was successfully concluded.
Following the move, Gameday Group’s shares are now held by Cherry With Friends ( per cent of shares) and its CEO Aron Egfors (holding one share).

Swedish regulator Lotteriinspektionen has issued a further 28 licences ahead of the country's iGaming market next month, with Cherry, Gaming Innovations Group (GiG), , Paf and Betfair among the latest recipients.
Cherry has been awarded no less than eight licences for online and betting in the new-look market, which will officially launch on January 1,
The licences will cover, Casinostugan, Cherry Casino Sweden, ComeOn, Hajper, Mobilautomaten, Snabbare and two partner brands. Cherry has also secured a land-based commercial casino gaming licence for its Cherry Spelglädje AB arm.
“Although, the licence applications have involved a considerable amount of work, we are convinced that the Swedish regulations provide better conditions for gaming operators, our customers as well as for us as a company and therefore also for our shareholders,” Gunnar Lind, president and CEO of Cherry, said.
GiG has secured two licences for the re-regulated market; one to cover in-house brands Rizk, Guts, Highroller, Thrills, Kaboo and Betspin, while the other will cover white label customers.
